game tester
Plays for pay
A game tester is someone who plays video games before release to find bugs, glitches, and design flaws.
The work involves methodically checking every feature, often repeating the same actions hundreds of times: She spent eight hours trying to break the collision detection.
Despite the name, it's less about playing for fun than systematically trying to make things go wrong.
