galago

Big-eyed leaper

A galago is a small nocturnal primate native to Africa, also called a bushbaby.

Galagos have large eyes adapted for night vision, oversized ears that can move independently, and powerful hind legs for leaping between branches.

They're known for their distinctive cries, which sound like a human infant wailing: We heard galagos calling in the trees outside our tent.
