gak

Stretchy toy ooze

Gak is slang for cocaine or methamphetamine, used especially in drug subcultures.

The term gained wider recognition as the brand name for a colorful, gooey toy substance popular in the 1990s—sticky, stretchy, and satisfyingly gross to play with.

In either sense, gak suggests something messy or illicit.

The word also appears as an onomatopoeia for gagging or choking sounds: He made a gak noise when he tasted the medicine.
