fugs

Thick, stuffy air

Fugs is the plural of fug—a warm, stuffy, stale atmosphere, especially in an enclosed space: The fugs of cigarette smoke and body heat made the pub nearly unbearable.

The word is chiefly British and somewhat old-fashioned.

As a verb, to fug is to stay in or create such an atmosphere.
