fruit concentrate
Condensed juice base
Fruit concentrate is fruit juice with most of its water removed, leaving behind a thick, intensely flavored syrup.
Manufacturers use it to sweeten beverages, yogurts, and processed foods, or reconstitute it with water to make juice.
Because the label can read "made with real fruit," concentrate appears in products marketed as healthier alternatives to those sweetened with corn syrup, though nutritionally the difference is often negligible.
