front sight
Muzzle-end aiming reference
The front sight is the aiming element at the muzzle end of a firearm, aligned with the rear sight to aim at a target.
On handguns and rifles, it's typically a post or blade that the shooter centers in a notch or aperture.
Line up the front sight with the target and squeeze the trigger.
