frame job
Planted evidence scheme
A frame job is a scheme to make an innocent person appear guilty of a crime or wrongdoing they didn't commit.
Evidence is fabricated or manipulated, witnesses may be bribed or coerced, and the target ends up taking blame for someone else's actions: The whole thing was a frame job—those drugs were planted in his car.
Also called a frame-up.
