foster fails
Care placement ends
Foster fails are animals—usually dogs or cats—that a person intended to foster temporarily but ended up adopting permanently.
The "failure" is tongue-in-cheek: the foster caregiver failed to give up the animal, not failed at fostering.
We meant to find her a home, but she became our third foster fail.
