food guilt
Dietary self-reproach
Food guilt is the feeling of shame or self-reproach after eating something perceived as unhealthy, excessive, or indulgent.
It often accompanies diet culture, where certain foods are moralized as "bad" or "cheating": I felt such food guilt after finishing the whole pint of ice cream.
The term recognizes this response as a distinct psychological phenomenon rather than rational assessment of nutrition.
