floating house
Home on water
A floating house is a dwelling built on a buoyant platform that rests on water, typically moored in place rather than designed for travel.
Unlike houseboats, which have motors and can navigate, floating houses are essentially stationary homes that happen to sit on water: The floating houses along the canal have their own docks and mailboxes.
They rise and fall with water levels but remain anchored to one location.
