flashforwarding
Showing future events
Flashforwarding is jumping ahead in a narrative to show future events before returning to the present timeline.
The term comes from film and television storytelling, the temporal opposite of flashback.
It can describe the technique itself or the act of using it: The show kept flashforwarding to scenes we wouldn't understand until the finale.
