flame-resistant

Resists catching fire

Flame-resistant describes materials that resist ignition or burn slowly when exposed to fire.

The term applies to fabrics, building materials, and protective clothing designed to reduce fire hazards: flame-resistant workwear, flame-resistant insulation.

Unlike fireproof, flame-resistant doesn't imply complete immunity to fire—just delayed or reduced combustion.
