female CEO
Company's top woman
A female CEO is a woman serving as chief executive officer of a company or organization.
The phrase exists because CEO has historically defaulted to male, making the female modifier feel necessary for clarity or emphasis: She became one of the youngest female CEOs in tech.
The construction parallels "female doctor" or "female pilot"—marking what was once exceptional but grows less so.
