fall harness
Height worker's safeguard
A fall harness is safety equipment worn on the body to arrest a fall from height.
Workers in construction, window washing, and tree work wear fall harnesses attached to anchor points by lanyards or retractable lifelines.
The harness distributes the force of a sudden stop across the thighs, pelvis, chest, and shoulders rather than concentrating it at the waist: OSHA requires a fall harness for work above six feet.
