fake money
Bills without value
Fake money is currency that isn't genuine—counterfeit bills, prop cash for films, or play money for games.
The term covers everything from sophisticated forgeries meant to deceive to obviously artificial bills marked "for motion picture use only": The detective spotted the fake money immediately.
Informally, fake money can describe currency someone considers worthless: Cryptocurrency is just fake money to my dad.
