extreme skier
Cliff-dropping snow athlete
An extreme skier navigates steep, dangerous terrain—cliffs, chutes, and backcountry slopes far from groomed runs.
The term distinguishes those who seek out hazardous conditions from recreational skiers: Extreme skiers were helicoptered to the peak.
The activity often involves jumping, freestyle tricks, or descents that would be reckless for most.
