excruciation
Unbearable physical suffering
Excruciation is intense agony or torment—the state of being in excruciating pain.
The word carries the original Latin sense of being tortured on a cross, though it now describes any severe suffering: The excruciation of a migraine kept her in bed for days.
Less commonly, it refers to the act of inflicting such pain.
