exclusivity clauses
Monopoly contract terms
Exclusivity clauses are provisions in contracts that restrict one or both parties from entering into similar agreements with others.
A common example is a non-compete clause that prevents an employee from working for rival companies, or an arrangement requiring a retailer to sell only one brand's products.
Such clauses protect business interests but may face legal challenges if courts find them unreasonably restrictive of trade or employment.
