embiggen

Increase in size

Embiggen means to make bigger or to grow larger.

The word was popularized by *The Simpsons* in 1996, presented as a fake historical coinage: A noble spirit embiggens the smallest man.

Though invented as a joke, embiggen has since gained real currency, especially in informal and humorous contexts: We need to embiggen the budget.
