egg rolling
Springtime lawn competition
Egg rolling is a traditional Easter game in which participants roll decorated hard-boiled eggs down a grassy slope, competing to see whose egg travels farthest without breaking.
The White House Easter Egg Roll, held annually on the South Lawn, is the most famous American example.
In Britain, egg rolling persists as a regional folk custom.
