edge of the earth
Where land ends
The edge of the earth is the imaginary boundary where the world ends, a concept from times when people believed the earth was flat and one could fall off its rim.
Though we now know the earth is spherical, the phrase persists in expressions emphasizing extreme distance or the limits of effort: I would go to the edge of the earth for you.
It suggests traveling as far as physically possible, to the very end of what exists.
