earth wire
Protective electrical path
An earth wire is a safety conductor in electrical systems that provides a path to ground, preventing electric shock if a fault occurs.
It connects metal parts of appliances to the earth, so stray current flows safely away rather than through a person.
Called a ground wire in American English.
The earth wire connects to the green and yellow terminal.
