ear mites
Tiny canal invaders
Ear mites are tiny parasitic arachnids that infest the ear canals of animals, especially cats, dogs, and rabbits.
They feed on skin oils and ear wax, causing intense itching, inflammation, and a characteristic dark, crumbly discharge that resembles coffee grounds.
Left untreated, ear mite infestations can lead to secondary infections and hearing damage.
The vet confirmed our cat's constant head-shaking was caused by ear mites.
