e-shopping

Buying via internet

E-shopping is shopping done online rather than in physical stores.

The term emerged in the 1990s as internet commerce developed but has largely been displaced by "online shopping": I did all my e-shopping from my couch.

The e- prefix marks it as dated internet-era vocabulary, like e-mail before it became just email.
