dysphemism
Deliberate harsh wording
A dysphemism is a harsh or offensive term substituted for a neutral or polite one—the opposite of euphemism.
Calling a used car a *beater* or the elderly *old geezers* are dysphemisms.
The technique emphasizes negative qualities, often for humor, contempt, or shock value: He didn't pass away, he croaked.
