double knit
Two-layer textile
Double knit is a fabric made by interlooping two layers of yarn, creating a thick, stable material that doesn't curl at the edges.
Popular for stretchy, wrinkle-resistant clothing in the 1970s, it fell out of fashion but remains useful for structured garments.
As an adjective: a double-knit polyester suit.
