double chair
Two-person ski transport
A double chair is a ski lift designed to carry two passengers side by side on each seat.
The term distinguishes it from single chairs, triple chairs, and quad chairs based on capacity.
Double chairs were once the standard at ski resorts but have largely been replaced by higher-capacity lifts: The old double chair up the backside takes forever.
