double blind
Unbiased study method
Double blind describes an experimental design where neither the participants nor the researchers administering the treatment know who receives the real intervention and who receives the placebo.
This prevents unconscious bias from influencing results or interpretations.
The gold standard in clinical trials: a double-blind study of the new medication.
Sometimes used loosely to mean thoroughly objective or unbiased.
