A doomster is someone who predicts disaster or dwells on catastrophe.
The word carries a dismissive edge—it's what optimists call pessimists: The doomsters said the economy would collapse, but it didn't.
Climate skeptics call climate scientists doomsters; climate activists call deniers worse.
Related to doomsayer, though doomster sounds slightly more informal or British.
