dome theater
Curved ceiling venue
A dome theater is a venue where films or shows are projected onto a curved, hemispherical ceiling, creating an immersive viewing experience.
Planetariums are the classic example, projecting star fields and astronomical phenomena onto their domes.
IMAX dome theaters (sometimes called OMNIMAX) use specialized fisheye lenses to fill the entire dome with imagery: The documentary about deep-sea creatures was stunning in the dome theater.
