divine language
Heaven's own speech
A divine language is a language believed to originate from or be used by gods, angels, or other supernatural beings.
The concept appears across religious traditions—Hebrew as the language of creation, Sanskrit as the speech of the gods, glossolalia as speaking in tongues.
Divine languages are often considered more pure, powerful, or ancient than human speech: The priest chanted in the divine language of the scriptures.
The term also describes any language treated as sacred or liturgical.
