disenrollment

Leaving a program

Disenrollment is the act or process of removing someone from a program, plan, or organization they were previously enrolled in.

The term appears most often in healthcare and education contexts: disenrollment from Medicare, disenrollment from the university.

It can be voluntary or involuntary—a patient may request disenrollment, or an institution may initiate it for nonpayment or noncompliance.
