disenable
Take away ability
To disenable is to deprive of ability or power—the opposite of enable.
The word is rare and old-fashioned, with *disable* serving the same function in modern usage: The injury disenabled him from further service.
It occasionally appears in legal or technical contexts where *disable* might seem too physical.
