disabled list
Sidelined players register
In professional sports, the disabled list is a roster designation for players too injured to compete, allowing teams to temporarily replace them.
A player goes on the disabled list after a significant injury.
Major League Baseball renamed it the "injured list" in 2019, but the older term persists in casual use and other sports contexts.
