direct laryngoscopy
Blade-assisted airway view
Direct laryngoscopy is a medical procedure in which a rigid instrument is inserted through the mouth to visualize the larynx and vocal cords.
Unlike indirect laryngoscopy, which uses mirrors or flexible cameras, direct laryngoscopy provides an unobstructed straight-line view.
It's commonly performed before intubation or to examine suspicious growths: The surgeon performed a direct laryngoscopy to assess the tumor.
