direct kick
Foul's awarded strike
A direct kick in soccer is a free kick from which a goal may be scored without the ball touching another player.
It's awarded for serious fouls like tripping, pushing, or handball.
The kicker may shoot directly at goal: He curled the direct kick into the upper corner.
Contrast with indirect kick, which requires a second touch.
