dieseling
Motor won't stop
Dieseling is when a gasoline engine continues running briefly after the ignition is switched off, sputtering and knocking before finally stopping.
The combustion happens without a spark, like a diesel engine—hence the name.
The problem typically indicates carbon buildup or an engine running too hot.
Also called run-on.
