dichotic listening
Dual-channel auditory processing
Dichotic listening is a technique in auditory research where different sounds are presented simultaneously to each ear through headphones.
Researchers use it to study attention, language processing, and how the brain handles competing auditory information: In the dichotic listening task, subjects were asked to repeat only what they heard in the right ear.
