demagnetizers
Magnetic erasure devices
Demagnetizers are devices that remove or reduce magnetism from objects.
They work by exposing magnetized materials to an alternating magnetic field that gradually diminishes, scrambling the aligned magnetic domains.
Technicians use them on tools, watch parts, and magnetic tape heads: The watchmaker ran the tweezers through the demagnetizer before working on the movement.
