decorative elements
Purely visual touches
Decorative elements are features added primarily for visual appeal rather than function.
The phrase appears in discussions of design, architecture, and art: The room's decorative elements include crown molding and ornate sconces.
Decorative elements may be structural features given aesthetic treatment or purely ornamental additions like trim, patterns, or embellishments.
