decommitted
Reversed a pledge
Decommitted describes something or someone withdrawn from a previous commitment.
In college sports recruiting, an athlete who decommitted had pledged to attend a school but later reversed that decision: He decommitted from Ohio State after the coaching change.
The term also appears in computing, where decommitted memory has been released back to the system.
