debit memo
Account reduction document
A debit memo is a document from a seller to a buyer indicating an amount owed—typically for additional charges, price adjustments, or corrections to a previous invoice.
Banks also issue debit memos to notify customers of fees or charges deducted from their accounts: The bank sent a debit memo for the overdraft fee.
The opposite is a credit memo.
