debiting

Taking from account

Debiting is the act of subtracting money from an account.

Banks debit accounts for purchases, fees, or withdrawals: After debiting the monthly service charge, my balance was nearly zero.

In double-entry bookkeeping, debiting records an entry on the left side of a ledger, increasing assets or expenses while decreasing liabilities or equity.
