daylight bombing
Sunlit aerial attacks
Daylight bombing is the military tactic of conducting aerial bombing raids during daytime hours rather than at night.
The approach allows for greater accuracy in hitting targets but exposes aircraft and crews to increased danger from enemy fighters and anti-aircraft fire.
The term is most associated with World War II, when American forces favored daylight precision bombing while the British conducted nighttime area bombing: The Eighth Air Force suffered heavy losses in its daylight bombing campaign over Germany.
