day students
Boarders' opposite classmates
Day students are students who attend a school but don't live on campus, in contrast to boarders who reside in school housing.
The term appears mainly in contexts where boarding is the norm or an option—prep schools, some colleges, certain international programs: Day students went home after classes while boarders headed to the dining hall.
