day book
Chronological transaction record
A day book is a journal for recording transactions or events as they happen, before entries are transferred to permanent ledgers.
In bookkeeping, it captures daily sales, purchases, or cash movements in chronological order: The clerk entered each sale in the day book.
The term also applies to any diary of daily activities.
