danger money
Risk compensation bonus
Danger money is extra pay for hazardous work—compensation beyond regular wages for jobs that risk life or limb.
Coal miners, bomb disposal technicians, and war correspondents might receive danger money.
The term is more common in British than American English, where hazard pay is the usual equivalent.
