custom framing
Made-to-order borders
Custom framing is the process of having artwork, photographs, or other items professionally mounted and framed to specific requirements rather than using standard ready-made frames.
A custom framer selects materials—matting, glass, frame style—to complement and protect the piece: I took my grandmother's watercolor in for custom framing.
The term also refers to businesses offering this service.
