Heaped white puffs
Cumuli is the plural of cumulus, the puffy, flat-bottomed clouds that pile up in fair weather.
Meteorologists use the Latin plural, though cumulus clouds or just cumulus works fine in ordinary speech: Cumuli were building over the mountains by midafternoon.
