culture warriors
Societal battlefield participants
Culture warriors are people who fight aggressively over social and political values—abortion, gender, religion, education, free speech.
The term usually carries a dismissive tone, implying someone more interested in symbolic battles than practical solutions: The culture warriors on both sides have made compromise impossible.
Culture war is the broader conflict; culture warriors are its combatants.
